One of the best things you can do to enjoy your wedding day is nearly impossible. Sleep.
This super important beauty sleep escapes most brides not only the night before the big day, but also the entire week. With so much to do and so little time, it’s not surprising that the magical mix of stress and excitement is a perfect caffeine cocktail.
If you want to wake up on the right side of the bed the morning of your wedding day, here are a few tips on how to fall asleep when you’re having trouble.
1. Make a list
You’re doing this already in your mind, so why not document it somewhere? Writing it down takes the responsibility off of your brain and puts it on paper (or screen), giving your poor head a break and the opportunity to relax. Using apps like Evernote, Wunderlist, Google Docs, or even just good old fashioned pencils and paper will make the world of a difference
2. Do Not Disturb
Speaking of your phone, either turn it off or silence notifications when you go to bed. I like the Do Not Disturb feature on mine, I set it from 10:30pm until 7:00am.
One of the easiest things you can do when you’re lying down is breathe. Breathing is will relax not only your mind, but also your body. There are plenty of great methods to follow and practice.
4. Go Natural
I get that you’re likely doing all of these things and are hoping for some chemical aid. Skip the wine, beer or liquor because while these makes you sleepy, it doesn’t lead to a solid night’s rest. Instead, try an all herbal, non-addictive solution like Emergen-Z or ResQ Sleep. Both will help you fall asleep and stay asleep.
4. Drink Water
Drinking water promotes proper health and will also make your skin look beautiful! While having fun at your rehearsal dinner, don't forget to have a glass of water between drink - you'll be happy you did!
